Lovely little 1920’s Steiff tipped mohair Molly dog. 4″ tall.
This very sweet little Steiff Molly dog dates to circa 1920’s and is in very good condition with all of heroriginal features still intact. Her STEIFF underscore button is still intact in her left ear and she is one of the smallest Molly dogs Steiff made at 4″ tall with a jointed head so she can be nicely posed.
Molly is completely wood wool stuffed with glass eyes and a black cotton thread nose and mouth stitching and even has her original silk ribbon although it is quite ragged now. She still has a very good coverage of her tipped cream mohair with slight overall thinning and small bare spots but I would estimate she has retained a good 90% coverage overall. She has such a lovely expressive face and would make a wonderfuladdition to any antique Steiff collectors hug of bears and soft toys or as a lap dog companion to a larger ted.
