Lovely little 1920’s Farnell black mohair Halloween cat. 3.5″ tall.
This sweet little black mohair cat dates to circa 1920’s and is in very good condition with all of her original features still intact. I am not 100% sure of her maker but she is typical of the kind of toys made by Farnell during that period although she no longer has any tags or labels.
She is completely wood wool stuffed with glass eyes and a red cotton thread nose and mouth stitching and tiny horse hair whiskers. Her black mohair has not faded and she still has a very good coverage with just very slight overall thinning and tiny bare spots and I would estimate she has retained a good 95% coverage overall. Her tail bushy tail is made from fur rather than mohairand she would make a great Halloween cat or collection of antique soft toys and teddy bears.
