Meet Chipper, a darling old mechanical wind up puppy dog dating to the 1940s, with a blue and white Chiltern label. He is 7″ high, with a metal body and legs, covered in artificial silk plush, with glass painted back eyes and a hand stitched nose and mouth. His wind up mechanism is very lazy…without encouragement you just get a single, leaning step forward, but if you give him a gentle encouraging tap to his back he will jump forward and if you set him on his hind legs he will do a little begging motion. So in saying he is in working order, this means with constant encouragement!!’ He has the most delightful exoression, is clean, sweet smelling and would make a lovely old bear buddy to add to your collection.
