Mrs Wimpory-Wonderful Old Steiff Teddy Bear – Boot Button Eyes, Antique in Dress
This TeddyLady is Mrs Wimpory. If you don’t mind Teddies with wear and a few holes, but adore a Teddy who has lived 100 years and has seen so many family and happy times .. she is the ted for you! She was made in the 1900’s by the German Company Steiff. She is is fully jointed, stuffed completely with woodwool and stands around 13 inches tall.
She has tufty blonde mohair, felt pads and original boot button eyes. She is an elderly lady now having totted up around 100 years on this little planet, which means that she does have some wear and is a fragile ted. I’ve taken photographs to show this but basically she has various holes simply from being loved and having survived so long!
She likes to have a nice sit in the garden, enjoying the flowers and parade around in her antique blouse and apron, and when the weather turns pop her bonnet up. She also enjoys having a little sit in the sun with her best friend Thomasina who is also looking for a new home.
What I adore about Mrs Wimpory is to think of all that she has seen in this life, she has somehow lived through 2 world wars, various house moves and possibly different families and yet she is still here today waiting for a new special person to call her own. She will travel to her new home in her special outfit and beads – which I believe shes owned for a long time!
