‘MILDRED’
A lovely cuddly vintage/antique bear with a gold mohair coat, amber and black eyes on wire (not safety eyes) and beige curly fur fabric paws and footpads. Mildred stands 16″ tall is fully jointed with cotter pin joints and has straw or wood wool filling in her head and body with probably kapok in her arms and legs. She occasionally gives a little grunt now and then when tipped over.
Mildred has good mohair covering, no bald areas and is probably dated around the 1940s or early 1950s. Her maker is unknown but I am fairly sure she is an English bear.
Mildred comes complete with the very pretty vintage ivory 2 layer embroidered dress and her necklace and matching bracelet have been restrung with vintage peach pearly beads. She also has white satin bows trimmed with white pearl trimmed butterflies around her ears.
