ANTIQUE ERRIS TOYS (IRELAND) PINK AND WHITE MOHAIR DOG WITH MAKERS LABEL
Marshmallow is a charming antique dog made in Ireland by Erris Toys (later known as Tara Toys). She dates from 1949- 1950 and still retains her makers label stitched to the tip of her left back paw. Her label is white cloth with red stitched lettering, and is worded:MADE IN
REPUBLIC
OF IRELAND
When I bought her she had an old label on a string around her neck. with ‘Marshmallow’ written on it in pencil. obviously by a child. I still have the label (somewhere!) and will send it with her when she goes to her new home.She measures approximately 9 inches in height from front paws to top of head, and 9 inches in length from nose to tail. She is made of pink and cream mohair which retains approximately 95% coverage. Her mohair is clean and soft and retains very good unfaded colour.
She is filled entirely with wood wool which is very firm and still evenly distributed. She is unjointed (permanently in sitting position). She is a very clean dog with no musty or unpleasant odours.
She has original (stitched in) glass eyes and original black vertical stitched nose with longer downwards end stitches and muzzle.Please take the time to look at the listing photographs before bidding as they form an important part of the description.
Marshmallow has no serious faults or damage of any sort. She has very light general playwear, none of which merits individual note, but is generally in very good condition. Her antique 1940s pink silk neck ribbon is not original her.
