Lottie ~ Very Rare Aerolite Button Moon-Eye Chad Valley Large Antique Old Teddy Bear Lottie is a very rare old English teddy bear made by Chad Valley. She dates to between 1923-1926 when Chad Valley introduced their Aerolite stuffing and corresponding button, which is super rare to find, and located at the top of her chest, just under her neck..She’s a big old, heavy girl, and stands around 27 inches tall.Sadly she has lost a lot of mohair from her chest and inner arms, but elsewhere she is covered in thick, luxurious golden fur which is well attached.Her feet are card-lined and all her pads are original – her hands are in very good shape but with 95 years of walking, her feet have a few holes in.She has what I think are her original yellow “moon-eye” glass eyes although at some point they’ve been glued in place, and I would say that the majority of her nose, mouth and claw stitching has been added later.Old Lottie’s had a few running repairs around her ankles over the years, and her ears have been stitched back on at some point.She has tiny hole in her right arm and a big one on her nose – I suspect due to too many kisses!All in all she’s a wonderful, very rare, pretty old bear who looks great in her vintage cardie.She’s photographed with Mr Bennett, an affectionate old Chiltern gentlebear; who’s being sold seperately
