This is Georgie, a gorgeous old Chiltern bear dating from around late 30s early 40s. No signs of a label anywhere. His total length/hight is 17 inches approximately. He’s made of blonde mohair that has become bald in places from being loved… but it doesn’t detract from his good looks!Around and above his left eye (right eye in photos although) is a feint light blueish ‘stain’. When I first got him it was really dark and reminiscent of a large blob of leaked biro ink. I’ve managed to lighten it quite considerable, but it just won’t fade completely. I don’t want to damage the mohair so I’ve stopped as I think it looks fine and doesn’t spoil him at all.He has undergone a gentle restoration process which included cleaning, replacement pads (remnants of the original have been retained underneath), replacement matched eyes & replica thread nose. Over all he is firm to touch, filled with wood wool. Legs are a little bendy due to the wood wool dispersing, and one leg is slightly longer than the other .There’s a growler unit in the tummy, which rattles a bit, but doesn’t utter a sound. All 5 joints are loose, but all appear to be quite secure. He does need a little help sitting up! Georgie will travel wearing his vintage hand knitted pale blue real wool jumper to keep him warm. You can decide to allow him to wear it or not ( he does look cute with it on!)Importantly,this bear is free of any creepy crawlies!
