This is Georgie, a gorgeous old Chiltern bear dating from around late 30s early 40s.He has no labels, and his total length is 17 inches approximately.Georgie is made of blonde mohair, which is balding in places from being loved… but it doesn’t detract from his good looks!Around and above his left eye (right eye in photos) is a very feint blueish ‘stain’. When I first got him it was really dark and ink like, but Ive managed to lighten it considerable, but it just won’t fade completely and I don’t want to ruin the mohair, I think it looks like he’s got a healing bruise!
He has undergone a gentle restoration process which included cleaning, replacement pads (remnants of the original underneath), replacement matched eyes & a replica thread nose.
He is still firm to touch, but his legs are a little bendy due to the wood wool dispersing, and one leg is slightly longer than the other (I think thats why he has a ‘black eye’ from eating too much honey then falling over!)
He is filled with wood wool.
There’s a growler unit in the tummy, which rattles a bit, but doesn’t utter a sound.
His joints, all 5, are loose but secure, so he needs a little help sitting up!
Importantly, Georgie is clean, dry, dust free, free of any creepy crawlies and smells clean! During his stay, he’s been recuperating in a non smoking home.
Georgie will arrive in his vintage hand knitted pale blue real wool jumper so you can decide to allow him to wear it or not ( he does look cute with it on!)
He will arrive well padded & wrapped, via Royal Mail, Signed For service.
