An adorable, King Charles Cavalier Spaniel made by Steiff c.1920s.30s (no button). Charlie is stuffed with woodwool and five-way jointed. He’s all original with soulful, back painted glass eyes and embroidered features, and is 17 cms (6.75″) tall, and 24 cms (9.5″) long from nose to tail.
Charlie has a non-working squeaker, and is in overall good condition, apart from worn forelegs and a hind leg. His forelegs in particular are threadbare, and his right paw is showing his stuffing. In the past someone has attempted to repair them, not very successfully, with a waxy substance and stitches. But they don’t prevent Charlie from standing, though he’s rather doddery on his feet!
However, Charlie is a strong old boy, with plenty of brown and cream mohair, plus those cute floppy long ears. He has the most expressive, heart-melting face, and is wearing a handmade tan leather collar tied with orange cord. Thanks for looking.
