A delightful, brown mohair Steiff Teddy Baby with earbutton and yellow stock tag c.1950s. Erich has cardlined feet so he can stand on his own. His back-painted glass eyes are original, along with his nose stitching and felt foot-pads, which have sewn repairs. His paws pads have been neatly replaced in the past, and his open mouth re-lined with felt. All Erich’s claws are intact.
Stuffed with woodwool and fully-jointed, Erich’s short-pile muzzle is a tad threadbare with some loss of mohair, and there’s bald patches to his brown fur too. He has a non-working squeaker, and is wearing his original red leather bell collar. There’s a shred of what was probably a label to his left arm seam, so I think Erich was most likely made for the US zone. He’s a real character, and ever so cute. Thanks for looking.
