This is a lovely teddy who has the characteristics of the early American bears. He has a triangular shaped head, with boot button eyes, horizontally stitched nose, and ears slotted into the top of head. He is made from a short pile bristle mohair.
He measures approx 16 inches, and is wood wool filled throughout.
The pads are felt, and are in poor condition with the filling exposed, so will need recovering.
His joints are stable, but a little loose, but he can sit up and display nicely.
He has a pronounced hump on his back.
There is an inoperative growler in his tummy, which now just clunks about.
I’m sure despite his faults, with a little attention he could be made into a fine old chap.
