Candy Mayflower – Beautiful 1920’s Teddy Bear ~ Old Antique ~ in vintage clothes
This is Candy Mayflower. She is most definitely a bear who would suit someone who just purely adores a mix of beautiful antique bears.To be clear about her; she has had some tweaks along the way with a little light re stuffing to her nose, a split has been glued back together on her arm, I don’t know whether her eyes are original or not, BUT .. she’s just a delight and such a pretty, friendly bear – I believe she would brighten up any room! She’s a big bear, and stands 28inches tall (toe to ear tip), is stuffed completely with woodwool with a tiny kapok in the tip of her nose, she’s 5 way fully jointed, i’m not sure whether her pads and stitching are original or not because it’s been beautifully done. She’s covered in soft blondey mohair, has has a centre seam to her head, has lovely big mouse like ears, long arms with big curved wrists, long narrow feet and has the loudest cute growler I’ve come across for a while .. it’s funny as she does little grunts even when you carry her around.Candy enjoys a sit in the garden, and wraps up in her antique kimono which I would guess likely dates to the 1920s/30s. She can be seen here having a catch up with her fellow garden pal Sgt Barker who’s also looking for a home.Do you have a space in your home for cuddly Miss Mayflower?
