This is “Charlie ” , although he hasn’t got his label I don’t think there is much doubt that he is a Chad Valley. I have 4 of these big Chad boys & due to having to downsize my bears 2 of these must go. Well apart from having some not too pretty work done on his pads Charlie is a happy bear, he has a lovely smile. He is 23″ tall, woodwool filled, brown glass eyes, stitched nose & mouth. he has plenty of gold mohair left, yes thinning here & there but plenty still to brush. Now , his pads are his downfall but I never saw the need to change them, I brought him about 15 yrs ago, maybe more & brought him because I liked his face & he looked happy so left him alone. He has had all 4 recovered in red [of all colours] corded material, I am curious to what he has underneath, maybe even his label still? If he finds a new home & they redo them , I would love to know. All his 5 joints work well, he is a large strong bear still despite his 75+ years. He has spent his years with me amongst a large hug of other bears, I will be sorry to see him go but I don’t have a choice. He is from my own home which is non smoking .
