I found this poor teddy abandoned in the charity shop skip. With their permission I took it home, they could not sell it as it didn’t meet safety standards so threw the poor little guy away.
At first glance he was a bit of a mess with odd looking paws and a badly sewn nose and mouth. However, once I reached home I decided to take the paws off and recover. To my surprise his beautiful original velvet paws were hidden underneath and where in worn but good condition. I had no choice but to give him a new nose and mouth. After taking off the old one I found that there were signs of where the original was placed so I have tried to keep as close to that as possible. He does have some holes and minor old repairs as shown on the photo as well as a bit of red on his cheek. This is not very noticeable and I took the picture with the flash on to show it up more.
He is 14 inches high with wood shaving filling his body and head, and kapok in his arms and legs. His Mohair is patchy as shown in the pictures and his eyes are rather unusual. I first thought they were plastic but they actually appear to be some composite material. I think they are his original ones and again are showing signs of a once loved bear.  He is fully jointed, joints are a bit loose.
The last three photos show how I found him. Please study the photos as these form part of the description. I have dated him from around the 1920’s or 30’s due to by studying his construction which fits the materials used at this time.  He is a lovely chap and is very deserving of a caring new home!
