Antique Teddy Bear
This bear was purchased at an auction house some time ago. It was sold as a ‘Steiff’ bear, however I can not be 100% sure.
Research has confirmed to me that he is old but to be honest, confused me in regards to the manufacturer.
I am selling another bear, for which I listed ‘facts’. I have done the same here:
Facts:
Hump: He does not have a large hump.
Limbs: Arms, legs and feet are all exaggerated. Paws are curving upwards.
Nose: Long snout like nose with black hand stitched detailing
Joints: 5 joints with wooden discs. No metal rods.
Stuffing: Wood wool. Crunchy feel.
Fabric: Mohair. Thinning in spots but overall, pretty good.
Pads: Unsure if they are felt or brushed cotton.
Seam: Machine sewn with a 7 inch hand stitched seam on his back.
Condition:
Sadly missing 1 eye and both ears
Mohair is thinning in places but good condition overall (quite thick in places)
Construction is solid. Right hip seam is a little loose.
