Duke is a wonderful very early Cone Nosed Steiff teddy bear measuring a grand 24″ he is by no means perfect having half an ear missing from his left ear hence no button, repairs around his nose but he still has his original nose stitching. Duke has balding to the top his head with approx 70% of his now faded apricot mohair which is brighter at the back and in his seams, there is also a repair to his left ankle. Foot pads are original showing the dark blue felt lining with just some stitched repairs, his right hand pad is original but with an insert and stitched repairs and his left hand pad has been recovered. His kapok stuffing has broken down over the years giving him a very cute slumpy look and feel. He is not at all fragile and a sought after example of a very early Steiff ted.
