Alfie is an adorable old mohair jointed bear dating to the early part of last century. He is an impressive 24″ tall with big soulful glass eyes and a hand stitched nose and mouth. He has an inset muzzle which appears to have been made from a different, longer mohair from the rest of his body, although there are now only a few tufts remaining. He has a large hump and also a distinct indentation in the middle of the back of his head, which appears to be the result of sewing in his eyes too tightly!! He is completely straw filled and has repairs to the front of his feet. His fabric is delicate around his head where he has quite a few areas of wear, see pics. He is completely straw filled and almost bald, with only about 20% mohair coverage. He reminds me of an early Chad Valley design but I cannot seem to find an example of it in my books at the moment. He is clean and sweet smelling and would make a lovely, unusual addition to any bear collection.
