Alfie
c1908 28″ Steiff Bear
Alfie a wonderful majestic 28″ Steiff bear c1908. This grand old boy has around 80% of his mohair remaining the colour is apricot but has faded over the years but is still very vibrant in places, this is quite unusual as most apricot’s are pre1908 and are softly stuffed with kapok. Alfie no longer has his button, he has his original nose stitching and large black shoe button eyes, his growler no longer growls it now makes a wonderful clunking noise. Alfie has a small repair to the top of his nose and one to his ankle ( see pics) foot pads have some repairs hand pads are original. He is solidly stuffed with wood wool with the most wonderful quizzical expression. These large bears are getting so hard to find especially in such lovely condition. I have re-photographed Alfie as the pictures before really did not do him justice
