A COMICAL LARGE ANTIQUE GERMAN 1930S GOOGLY EYED PIG
Description
This charming antique pig dates from the 1930s and is of German manufacture.
He is quite a large pig, measuring approximately 19 inches in height.
He is made of flannel, whilst his clothes are made of felt and cloth. His clothing is stitched on and cannot be removed.
He is filled entirely with wood wool which is evenly distributed and very firm.
He is unjointed but his ears have (original) internal wires which gives them limited movement.
He has nicely defined airbrushed facial markings, a very large snout and original little googly glass ‘piggy’ eyes.His clothes (trousers, cummerbund, tailcoat and bow tie) are stitched on and cannot be removed.
He is a very clean pig and has no musty or unpleasant odours.He has a few minor superficial issues, which are as follows –
His right (trouser) leg is somewhat faded on the outer side.
His left (trouser) leg has light fading on the front (around his knee).
His right leg has a very small hole (just above his knee) which is approximately ¼cm x ½cm in size, and two tiny holes which are slightly larger than a pinhead.
His left leg has a small hole (close to his ankle) approximately 1cm x ½cm in size, which is neatly darned.
The right sleeve of his tailcoat has a couple of very minor small marks which are only evident under close scrutiny in bright light.
He has very light overall playwear, but is basically sound and sturdy, and for a 90-year-old pig, he is in generally very good condition.
