In all my years of collecting I have never seen apanda like this. He/she measures 16 inches to the top of the erect felt ears (15 in excluding ears). Panda is made of white mohair and black velveteen, and has the most amazing jointed limbs, with bent arms ans little short stumpy jointed legs with carded soles. which with a bit of gentle persuasion enables the bear to stand and balance unaided. The head and limbs are straw filled, and the torso is kapok filled. The head is not jointed.I’d be lying if I said it was in good condition as this panda has certainly seen better days. The white mohair has worn very thin, and the black velveteen is worn and faded in places, more so on the right side, maybe from being in a window. There are stitches to the left elbow, arms are a little loose, and the card is showing through on the feet.On the plus side, the milk glass googly eyes are intact , and also the original nose and mouth stitching. All limbs have the light coloured claw stitches intact.Sometimes faults have to be overlooked when you come across something so unique, and I don’t think you would find another panda like this in a long time. Despite the faults, i’m sure you’ll agree this panda certainly ooozes character, and I think, quite rare.*The last picture shows his extended family, which are being listed separately.Don’t feel bad if you only want to bid on one panda, as they are solitary creatures by nature,so will be quite happy on their own.
