This is a gorgeous and rare Jopi musical cat dating from  the late 1920s.
The manufacturer is the German manufacturer Josef Pitmann who made high quality musical bears and animals using a Swiss Helvetic mechanism.
This particular cat has good fur coverage overall with some minor thinning, there is also bit missing on his leg where the fabric is discoloured. The end of the internal wire structure is protruding through his foot, and there is a small bump under the fabric of the other  foot.

He is mainly mohair, with the underneath a more woolly material, which he also has around his neck.  The fur is a creamy colour. He has stunning and unusual glass eyes, clear with orange backs and little green specks for authenticity.
He has an embroidered pink nose, and his claws are also pink. He also has a tiny felt tongue poking out.
His musical mechanism works,  if you squeeze his body he plays a very pretty tune for the duration of the time you are squeezing him. He measures approx 10 inches tall.

Please note, this is an adult collectable and not intended for use by children.
