A wonderful old Steiff bear, in excellent condition with ear button and original ribbon around his neck. He is very old, though I’m not sure exactly sure of the time period, perhaps 1940’s or early 1950’s.
This charming teddy is fully jointed with movable arms, legs and head and has a slight “bump” on the back if his neck. I believe he is made of Mohair which is tan or beige in colour. He has glass eyes, the stitching on his paws, feet, and face is all original and all still present as is the original felt on his feet. There are two small holes on the felt on the left foot and one small hole on the right as seen in the photos. His fur generally is in excellent condition, though there is a small patch that is worn the left paw and a little patch that is worn to the left of his nose. (as shown in the photos). The bear is still very firm and his stuffing has no signs of internal rotting or moth damage, His limbs and head are securely in place. I believe there may be a little squeaker in his chest though it no longer makes any sound.
He is 7in when standing from bottom of his foot to the top of his ear. One leg is slightly longer than the other.
A very lovable and charming teddy, in superb original condition. I’m sure he will bring much joy to his new owner!
