Sleep eyes, unusual cased plastic eyes with lashes, the left one needs repair as loose
This Teddy Bear dates from the early Tieno of the 1950s, has the label Tieno fabrique en France. It is the predecessor of the later ones that was called sleepy and has different texture. The newer versions of the 1970s are selling over 150 euros. This one is older and sells more than this price in France.
Vintage condition.
It is a nice Teddy Bear to add to any collection as it is rare to find.It has been priced for a quick sell.
Emile Thiennot worked for Marcel Pintel earlier in his life, but in 1919, he set up on his own selling bears and other soft toys under the trade name of Jouet Champenois. In 1920, Thiennot won a prize for one of his Teddy Bears. In 1957, the firm, however, changed its name to Creation Tieno. The firm closed its doors in 1993. Many early Teddy Bears made by this company are quite difficult to identify and could and often do, get mistaken for Pintel Teddy Bears.
