A delightful, rare US Navy mascot goat made by Steiff c.1951-58. In original minty condition with his felt ‘N’ blanket, Huckleberry as I’ve named him, is unjointed and stands 15 cms (6″) high to the tips of his horns. He’s woodwool-stuffed, and has signature green and black glass googly eyes, and embroidered features. Huckleberry’s ears are grey felt with black airbrushing, and his wired horns are beige felt with black airbrushed stripes. As with any self-respecting goat, he has a long goatee beard, and a mix of long and close-cropped mohair. In the absence of his carded swing tag, he wears a nautical charm round his neck – not the anchor shown which I seemed to have lost in the garden after photographing him! Thanks for looking.
