Meet Valerie, a lovely old Chiltern teddy who is 20 tall. She dates from around the 1930s. She has very little of her dark golden mohair remaining – a few larger tufts here and there. She is mostly hard stuffed with wood wool (or similar) but this has sagged in places, leaving empty areas at the top of her arms and legs. The top part of her body, around her shoulders, has been re-stuffed with something softer. Her paw pads have been replaced with beige felt and she has one felt patch on her lower left arm, too. She is fully jointed, with every joint moving quite well, apart from her left leg, where the disc joint feels a bit bent over so it doesnt move very well. Nose and mouth stitching is original. Her amber glass eyes could be original – they are wired and do come out if pulled, so its hard to tell whether theyre replacements or not. She has a black stain down the side of her right arm. Both arms are long and slightly scooped. Both ears have little holes where they attach to her head, but they could be fixed quite quite quickly, I think. She has a couple of little dark marks on the top of her head. Under her newer clothes, she has an old vest and bloomers set in a pale pink – theyre a little old, stained and faded, but they seem to be almost as old as her, so Ive left them alone. Valerie is a dear old bear, with a sweet face and shes looking for a new home.Really sorry, will only post within the UK.
