The item:
This bear comes from Wales and I have seen another the same here. I have wondered if it a Wendy Boston bear but I haven’t been able to find a source that identifies him. He is unjointed and he is stuffed with the same fabric he is made from, which shows mild age related wear along seams and where his body bends. The pile of his fur is soft and clean. His nose and eyes are plastic. He has two-fingered paws. He is firm and cuddly and quite a large bear. I suspect he was born in the late 1950s when washable ‘hygienic’ bears came in vogue.
