EARLY 1930s/40s 18″ MOHAIR PANDA NIGHTDRESS CASE TEDDY BEARThis early mohair panda nightdress case dates from approx. 1930s/40s. He has a zip up the back which opens up to allow you to put your pyjamas inside. His inner lining is red. He is not jointed. He has glass eyes (which don’t quite match, so one at least may have been replaced) and original felt pads. His arms, legs and head are stuffed with wood wool (straw). He has a brown stitched nose and mouth, although we believe some of the nose stitching may be missing. He has no maker’s labels or marks, but we believe him to be English made, possibly by Deans or Merrythought. Condition: Overall fair condition, with significant playwear consistent with age and use. His mohair fur is overall grubby and worn. He has some bald patches. His white parts are particularly grubby, and he would benefit from a careful clean. His felt pads are worn and faded but not holed. One of his eyes may have been replaced at some point as they don’t quite match, and some of his nose stitching is missing. His zip is in good working order, but the inner lining is ripped right down one seam exposing his inner construction. The lining has signs of old repair.
