Meet Edwin, a sweet little vintage Chiltern Hugmee teddy bear, who is 16 tall – I think this is quite an unusual size. Dates from around the 1950s and has the black plastic nose and original amber plastic eyes. His golden mohair is in good condition, with only a few balder areas – there is one little pink mark on his tummy (see photos) which I think would sponge off but havent wanted to risk it. His original velvet paw pads are in pretty good condition and his mouth stitching is intact, too. His head is more solidly stuffed, with softer stuffing in his body, arms and legs. Slightly saggy around his tummy, but just where his squeaker was (this is no longer working, but you can feel it there.) He is fully jointed and all are moving smoothly. The cardboard disc joint at his neck is showing through the fur at the back of his neck, so needs a few stitches to just pull that back into place. A super little bear!
