Vintage / antique teddy bear – I am not a teddy bear expert so I dont know how old he is. He could be antique, vintage or a vintage quality artist bear? He is very cute with a great grumpy expression.
Lovely golden colour mohair with a very solid feeling body and sewn on nose – see photos. I do not know what he is stuffed with but it doesnt feel gritty enough to me to be wood chip or sawdust? What feel to me like leather pads to his paws but I couldnt say for sure.
He has a small wind up handle in his back – I would guess clockwork and overwound, as it no longer works. Presumably he either growled or played music originally.
Measures approximately 14 inches tall. Arms and legs move but head does not.
Vintage/antique and preloved therefore NOT new or pristine and will show signs of a previous life (!) and wear commensurate with this – see photos.
Sold as a collectors item only as NOT suitable for children.
