Delightful Vintage Chiltern Hygienic Teddy Bear
Golden coloured fur, jointed moveable head, arms and legs (arms are a little stiff to move), 18 ins tall to top of ears, amber plastic eyes and plastic nose hence I believe it to be dated late1950s, hand stitched black wool mouth and four black stiches on each paw and foot pad. The pads are velvet or rexine, the feet pads are flat with card or board under the fabric, the right foot pad has the intact original label ( I understand this is rare and sought after) The label is cream coloured with blue letter it reads “CHILTERN HYGIENIC TOYS MADE IN ENGLAND” This bear has a squeaker in his belly which is activated by pushing the inside bellows button at his belly. 458g.
He is in very good condition, commensurate with his age, no damage or marks.
