I am offering a lovely Old / Vintage JOY TOYS Teddy Bear from AUSTRALIA dating to the 1930’s.
This dear old teddy bear has black and amber glass eyes, and black stitched nose and mouth.
He has clearly been a much loved friend and companion to his young owner, and has had a tough life – I’m sure he’s had lots of fascinating adventures over the years! He has very good mohair coverage to his face, upper tummy and tops of his arms, but sadly there is mohair loss to his lower tummy and tops of both legs. There is general thinning across the rest of his body. He has approximately 50% mohair remaining.
Teddy has original, linen paw and foot pads, he doesn’t have any claw stitches.
Like most JOY TOYS teddy bears, his head is fixed and isn’t jointed, although his arms and legs are jointed.
His woven label is on his left foot, with the words ‘ JOY TOYS MADE IN AUSTRALIA in green. Teddy measures 18 inches tall.
