Hi, thanks for looking. We have enquired with an expert about the nature of this very handsome Teddy as his history seems very mysterious. Please note that we are a charity shop and the bear was handed in to us, there are no labels nor any paperwork. We believe he is a Chiltern Toys creation, from the 1950s or perhaps the 60s.
He is 19″ tall and the width of his ‘hug me’ arms are approx. 12″. His eyes are plastic, amber in colour and with black pupils. The nose is plastic, there are no paw pads. The arms are fixed, the legs movable but not much.
The fur could well be horsehair rather than mohair, the stuffing probably wood wool.
And he doesn’t smell! Therefore we presume he has come from a pet and smoke free home.
A lovely bargain.
