Here we have a sweet, 14″ Paddington Bear dating to 1981, complete with Gabrielle label. The earlier 1970s Gabrielle Paddingtons were alk made in the much larger, chunkier 19″ version, and since the label says “registration applied for” I am guessing that this is one of the earlier versions of this newer size. I am 100% certain that this smaller version did NOT have wellington boots (this would be because the larger ones had genuine children’s Dunlop boots but I imagine there were no Dunlop boots small enough to fit this little fella!! ). Howver, i hace a feeling he may be missing a “please look after this bear” label, although I am not certain about that. He is in pretty good shape EXCEPT for his non existent foot pads, AND a large hole to the back of his duffle coat, please see last 2 pics. He does have both toggles to his coat, which is very faded to the front, and his red hat is in nice, relatively unfaded condition with no holes. His dinky but chunky size makes him an unusual little fella who would make a lovely addition to any old bear collection.
