Clarence is a serene old stuffed lion dating to the 1930s, probably by the short lived toy manufacturer Jungle Toys, who specialised in producing highly realistic wild animals toys.He is an impressive 26″ long including his sumptuous tail, and 17″ without. He is made from alpaca plush, typical of the alternative plushes the toy manufacturers were experimenting with in the 1930s. He is missing his left ear and has odd l glass eyes, one blue and one green, but this rather suits him and I cannot now imagine him with two the same! He is in played with condition…he has a couple of repairs, needs a couple of stitches to secure the fur at the end of his tail, and he has two or three bald spots around his head, see pics, but is otherwise in pretty robust condition. He is clean and fresh smelling, and would make a lovely old bear buddy for your collection.
