This is Tufty – a lovely old Chad Valley bear with blue print label which dates him to the 1930’s – label reads Hygienic Toys Made In England by the Chad Valley Company – wording is feint but still legible if you look closely. Tufty is 12 inches tall and fully jointed – joints are a little loose but all strong. He has original pads which show various degrees of wear – all intact – and is a mix of straw and kapok stuffed with a non-working squeaker. He has a patchy covering of mohair – better in some areas than others – and there is some darkening to areas of the fabric – he has also had a couple of little stitched repairs over the years. He is a lovely old character – I love his face – and a real old boy – now looking for a loving home xxxx
Please be aware I am a lover of the tattier old teds with oodles of character so bear this mind before buying – no bear will be perfect – far from it – but I guarantee they are all perfectly adorable. I try to list every bear accurately – if there is anything I forget I can only apologise – I try to put plenty of photos up so please take a good look as these form part of the description. I happily post overseas but anything over 40 in value HAS to be tracked hence overseas postage may seem a lot – if postage is less than quoted I will happily refund the difference.
