Vintage 1950’s cotton plush teddy bear with knitted dungarees.
Standing at 15″ tall with caramel gold plush, this sturdy little teddy bear was made circa 1950’s and is in good condition with all his original features intact. He is very firmly stuffed with wood wool and five ways jointed with all his limbs turning easily so he can be nicely posed. I am not sure who made him but I think he is English and he came with a little group of 1940’s bears, by other English makers, Chad Valley, Pedigree.There is a name tag on his back ‘VIVIENNE CLARK’ which I assume was for a previous child owner.
Ted has a very good coverage of his art silk/cotton plush which has flattened with slight overall thinning and a couple of small bare spots but I would estimate he has retained a good 95%+ coverage overall. All of his original features are intact, including his amber and black glass eyes and his black cotton thread nose and claw stitching. His cotton pads and are lightly worn but in otherwise good condition and there are no holes, damage or repairs and he is a sweet and expressive looking bear and would make a nice addition to any hug.He is also wearing a pair of hand knitted dungarees and a white silk bow to complete his look.
