Vintage 1950’s caramel gold plush teddy bear.
Standing at 13″ tall with caramel gold plush, this sturdy little teddy bear was made circa 1950’s and is in good condition with all his original features intact. He is very firmly stuffed with wood wool and five ways jointed with all his limbs turning easily so he can be nicely posed. I am not sure who made him but I think he is English and he came with a little group of 1920’s bears, by other English makers, Chad Valley, Farnell etc
Ted has a very good coverage of his art silk/cotton plush which has flattened with slight overall thinning and a couple of small bare spots but I would estimate he has retained a good 95%+ coverage overall. All of his original features are intact, including his amber and black glass eyes and his black cotton thread nose and claw stitching. He doesn’t have a mouth but looks like he never had one rather than it missing. His cotton pads and are slightly worn and grubby but in otherwise good condition and there are no holes, damage or repairs and he is a chunky and sweet looking bear and would make a nice addition to any hug.
