An enchanting, early humpbacked Steiff bear c.1908 (no button). Nellie is 25 cms (10″) tall, with original features. She’s stuffed with woodwool, and this has settled in the tops of both arms. There’s also a non-working side squeaker in her tummy. Nellie has shoebutton eyes and embroidered features. Her nose is missing a few threads, along with one of her mouth stitches – now faded from black to beige. Her felt pads all have patched repairs, but her claws are intact. Although Nellie’s mohair shows some thinning here and there, on the whole, she’s still a very furry ted. This sweet little beauty is dressed in a cute, vintage sailor dress, with hand-dyed neck ribbon. The lifebuoy is a prop only and not included in the listing. Thanks for looking.
