Suzy is a sweet mohair bear dating from the 1930’s/40’s.
She is firmly stuffed throughout with straw/wood wool, she has hard (wooden?) disc joints on her arms and legs and rexine paw pads. Her eyes are glass, the left one is slightly loose, a stitched nose, unfortunately she is missing her mouth stitching, strangely it doesn’t seem to spoil her pretty face.
She has golden coloured mohair (the pics. show her a lot lighter), thin and bald in places, more mohair on her back than front. All of her pads need attention, a foot and arm paw have worn away at the tip and the stuffing is showing. Her left paw seems to have the outline of where a label would have been. Has some small holes at the bottom of her torso and various areas that are wearing thin. Her right ear needs re-stitching at the back.
I have taken as many pics. as I could upload, please study them for condition, probably clearer than my description!
I am sure she is an English bear. She is 20″ from top of head to heel. She is nice and chubby. Five-way jointed.
A very reluctant sale as I think she is adorable, but I just have too many bears and need to downsize.
