An exceptionally cute-faced, original Steiff Bully dog with underscored ‘ff’ earbutton c.1930s. Bully is stuffed with woodwool and has a swivel head. He measures 15 cms (6″) high, including ears, which are internally wired along with his legs. Bully’s eyes are made of glass with painted backs. He has an embroidered nose, a lovely airbrushed mouth, and a full set of claws.
His velvet muzzle is in really good condition with minimal wear. Likewise Bully’s black & cream mohair is plentiful, with just a few small bald patches. However, the fur to the base of his head at the back appears to have worn away, and no longer covers his carded disc joint, so in the past someone has secured the fabric and painted the disc black. At least I think what’s happened(see pic). It actually blends in rather well and isn’t that noticeable, especially when he’s wearing his handmade felt bell collar, complete with tasselled hat. Overall, he’s a good sturdy dog, and very lovable. Thanks for looking x.
