Snowy The Giant Perranporth Bear, a brief history:Snowy is a bespoke bear and was made especially for the Gift/Toy Shop A.E.Chapman’s Parade Stores located on Perranporth’s Sea Front (See Pictures). Which makes him a unique piece of Cornish toy shop history. During the Christmas period this store stocked toys and seasonal wares & Snowy had pride of place in the window every year until the shop closed in the early 70’s. He then retired to the family home where he had his own place of honor in the sitting room (See Picture).In recent times he has been living in his own attic room.His current owners would love to find him a new home and some more bear friends.
NB: Verified Wendy Boston Bear (thanks for the lead on that) but it is hard to tell as his tags have all but faded away. Although he does have the one piece ears and distinctive claws. He stands approx 6 foot 2 inch (although loves to sit and contemplate the existential side of being, an attic full of books does that to a bear). VERY IMPORTANT:
PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO HIS SIZE AND WEIGHT SOMEWHERE AROUND 10 TO 12 STONE HE IS FOR COLLECTION ONLY AND WOULD ADVISABLY BE PICKED UP IN A LARGER ESTATE TYPE VEHICLE. DO NOT BID IF YOU CAN NOT COLLECT.
At the approx age of 59 he is a little dusty but in super condition otherwise (see photos).
