Please meet Rudolph Bing – a stunning, antique bear from the early 1900’s who I believe to be Bing. His mohair is gorgeous, soft and quite long, and I’ve tried to capture its tonal colouring in the photos. The mohair backing is the very rare dark brown/black and then he has lovely golden and amber grizzly tipped colouring all over the front while the back is a richer russet which presumably was the original colour. I love the way the sunlight has given him his highlights on the front and the contrast with the dark backing is beautiful. He has very good mohair coverage with some balding consistent with age, mainly to back and side of leg. He’s had a repair to his right wrist where his Bing button would have been but this is blended in very well. Repairs to paw pads but some original material and claw stitching still retained. Rudolph has all original features with attractive painted back glass eyes and original brown nose and mouth stitching. Some wear above nose but it is sound. Five way jointed, his neck joint is a little fragile but still fully turns and holds a pose and all limb joints are strong and poseable. He measures just over 19″, is stuffed with straw throughout and has a hump, long curved arms and a pronounced snout.
Rudolph is a very handsome and unusually-coloured bear and is in clean condition from a smoke-free home.
