Rare Old 1920’s Rudolf Haas Teddy – Antique German Bear ~ Restoration / TLC
Introducing Tinker. This wonderful old bear is German and dates to the 1920’s. He is most likely made by the rare teddy bear maker Rudolf Haas as he has the distinctive facial features. He is fascinating though as he is made in a fixed pose with wired arms.
He measures around 18inches tall, and is stuffed with woodwool. He has purple velvet original footpads, and his felt handpads have been patched with very old plasters along with a small one on his shoulder too, just from where the seam came open. He doesn’t have any bad scents to him, but his blonde-white mohair would definitely benefit from a nice perky clean if desired.
Tinker wears brown stitched on likely original trousers, and a neckerchief. He retains his original painted back glass eyes and original facial stitching.
He could be a real joy to restore, which would make him happy, and increase his value .. or he could be loved as he is… he just really wants to find a happy home again.
FAO American Buyers; The shipping to America has increased dramatically recently – particularly for packages weighing above 1kg – particularly the 2kg packages, this has meant i have had to increase the cost :-( I hope this won’t be forever but i can assure you, it is simply due to the cost being increased an incredible amount! x
