This bear was bequeathed by a grandmother.
Age c.1920-1930s.
Looks hand stitched. Has moveable limbs including head. All stuffed with a hard material. The limbs are supported on a metal frame – see images.
Obvious wearing to stitched nose mouth and paws. Looks like a cheeky Merrythought but there is nothing, absolutely nothing to indicate this other than the style.
There is a small split on one arm seam. Some viewers are convinced its a Merrythought, others believe its a Schuco. Its definitely not a Steiff, I’ve confirmed that with their museum.
