Very early (pre button) rare Steiff velvet Dachshund on metal wheels dating to the turn of the last century (c1901). Daxy has boot button eyes and the most adorable facial expression! He is in very strong condition with a small repair to the back of the neck (hidden by his red ribbon which, although not original to him, is a genuine Steiff ribbon). One ear is re-sewn. Daxy measures 11″ long from the tip of his long pointed nose to his tail and 5.5″ tall. It is hard to believe that this wonderful canine is nearly 120 years old!
