Beautiful antique christening gown together with a photograph of the baby wearing the actual dress.The gown is exquisite. Cream silk with lots of lace and frills. It is in excellent condition, with just a couple of tiny marks on it. No tears or splits. The length is approx. 42 inches.The photograph shows the baby being held by the nanny or nurse. The infant is looking at a lady in a spectacular hat who is probably their mother. It measures approx. 14.5 inches high by 12 inches wide, including the frame. It appears to have been stuck onto board. No glass. The photograph has faded, and it does have some marks on it, including a tear.I do not have any information on the family or any names etc. The items are antique and date to the Edwardian era I think, or possibly Victorian. Wonderful piece of social history, and a rare find.These would be nice to display with antique dolls or bears.From a smoke free home. I post within the UK only. Thank you for looking.I have just noticed that on the photo of the back of the dress showing the buttons, the dress looks a little pink. This must be due to the flash on my camera, as the dress is cream, with no pink!
