A very pretty Pedigee bear called Pru, c.1940s/50s. Stuffed with kapok and woodwool, she measures 43 cms (17″) tall. Pru’s eyes are amber glass replacements, and also in the past her nose has been re-stitched with wool. She may originally have had a black moulded nose. Her original velvet pads are all worn, and three are patched with a charming floral fabric. There’s a broken growler clunking inside her tummy, but her joints work fine. Despite some loss of gold mohair to her lower arms, which are almost bald, Pru still has lots of fur. Combined with her large trademark folded-in ears, Pru is an endearing, slouchy character, and wears a gorgeous handknitted cardi with woolly lace trimmed panties. She travels with her little Steiff Peky pet pooch. He’s 10 cms (4″) high with a swivel head and original fetures, including neck ribbon. Thanks for looking.
