Old Vintage Teddy Bear. Retro Vintage Old Teddy Bear.George is a lovely old 12 inch vintage teddy bear made in England by Chad Valley Chiltern in the 1960s.He is a seated, unjointed bear who sits in a permanent “hug me” pose, just inviting you for a cuddle !His label is still attached to his side seam but this is thin and wearing away.George is soft stuffed throughout and has a wood wool filled snout.His arms and legs are soft stuffed, as is his head and his snout is wood wool filled. He has amber and black plastic lock in safety eyes, a plastic “dog nose” and a hand stitched mouth.George’s paws feel to be made of a brushed cotton type material and are chocolate brown, with a few small holes on the upper paws.He has a soft, golden honey coloured coverage of plush , with visible seams, especially there is a seam that is raised and has taken some “mummy stitches”… George prefers to sit in a nice comfortable chair with some support to his back… He has an old growler rattling around inside him, but this no longer works properly.All these features are typical of an old bear with a story to tell…He is no longer suitable as a toy.
