Old Vintage Antique Teddy Bear. Vintage Merrythought Teddy Bear.
Arthur is a vintage Merrythought teddy bear who dates back to the 1950s as far as I can tell. I am not sure of his exact age, but he has two labels , one on his side which is stained, but points to that era. His other on his paw with the famous Merrythought branding.
Arthur is in particularly good condition for his age . He has full coverage of a white/ off white woolley type plush . He has his original safety lock eyes, and stitched features which are original.There are some stitches missing on his nose, as photographed.
Arthur’s paw pads are made of a lovely soft biscuit coloured velveteen, and are in good condition. He is jointed five ways with good joint connections.
He is soft filled throughout with a wood wool filled snout.
Arthur has bags of character and a sophistication about him, and he holds himself together well like any old English chap. He is no longer suitable as a toy, he is a collectors item only..
